JOHN HENRY’S

General Store

There’s been a General Store in Garden Bay on Pool Road since the 1940’s. Originally called Lloyd’s, it’s been John Henry’s for many, many years.

We’re proud of the store’s unique charm, patronized by locals and visitors. Our goal is to provide the range of goods one might find in a historic general store, including the provisions boaters, resort guests, and all others visiting Pender Harbour need.

The store is known for its distinctive product selections – our extensive beer, wine & spirits selection (we think the best north of Sechelt), varied gift and housewares assortment, regular and specialty groceries, greeting cards (including a wide selection by local artists) and much more.

John Henry’s maintains food preparation facilities inside the store. Year-round the Café prepares baked goods and soups (available during store hours). Café staff also prepare a selection of frozen entrées available for purchase. The Café’s Summer program depends on staffing and may be subject to change each year.
