Our 3,100 sq. ft. 4-bedroom West Coast-style home has generous indoor and outdoor areas for a perfect retreat with family or friends.

Its high bank oceanfront location provides spectacular views and sunsets. Guests, and especially kids, enjoy the large lower lawn, perfect for running around and playing games; adults can enjoy a lawn picnic or just relax in the sun. Share meals prepared in the large, well-equipped gourmet kitchen. Enjoy those meals inside or out. The four bedrooms are bright, cozy, and comfortable. The hot tub (suitable for 4) offers additional opportunities for relaxation.

Insider Tip

House 65 large main floor outdoor patio and lower lawn draw guests outdoors. Restoration comes from watching harbour activity (especially Saturday morning sailboat racing) or enjoying spectacular sunsets.

Directions

By Car – Horseshoe Bay Ferry

(From West Vancouver)

Travel 40 minutes by ferry (Horseshoe Bay to Langdale) to arrive at the Sunshine Coast’s Langdale Terminal. Your drive from Langdale will be about 90 minutes, through Gibsons and Sechelt, via the Sunshine Coast Highway #101, along winding roads.

  • Follow the Sunshine Coast Highway (you will pass Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Sechelt, Halfmoon Bay and Madeira Park).
  • After you see the Garden Bay sign, at the Petro Canada station, turn left onto Garden Bay Road.
  • Follow Garden Bay Road, staying to the left, and drive past Garden Bay Lake.
  • Continue driving straight past Sinclair Bay Road, past Claydon Road, and past Lyons Road.
  • At the dead-end rise, Turn left onto Pool Road, driving to your right around the lagoon.
  • Ahead of you will be John Henry’s General Store.
  • If you’re coming to check in at the Resort, continue on the road past the Store. The Marina & Resort office is the gray-blue building on your left.
By Car – Saltery Bay/Earls Cove Ferry

(From Powell River/North Sunshine Coast)

Travel 60 minutes by ferry (Saltery Bay) to arrive at the Sunshine Coast’s Earls Cove Terminal. After disembarking the ferry your drive from Earls Cove south via the Sunshine Coast Highway #101will be about 25 minutes to Garden Bay.

  • At the Petro Canada station, turn right onto Garden Bay Road.
  • Follow Garden Bay Road, staying to the left, and drive past Garden Bay Lake.
  • Continue driving straight past Sinclair Bay Road, past Claydon Road, and past Lyons Road.
  • At the dead-end rise, Turn left onto Pool Road, driving to your right around the lagoon.
  • Ahead of you will be John Henry’s General Store.
  • If you’re coming to check in at the Resort, continue on the road past the Store. The Marina & Resort office is the gray-blue building on your left.
Arriving by Boat

If arriving by boat, consult Charts 3535 and 3512.

Upon entering Pender Harbour continue straight into Hospital Bay. Look for our bright red cottage. Our marina is directly left of that cottage.

To reach our Fuel dock continue past our marina and look for the yellow Fuel Dock store & fuel dispensers.

For moorage assignments, call our marina office on 66A (summer only) or call the Marina & Resort office: 604-883-2336, Ext. 1.

During our busy summer months advance moorage reservations are strongly suggested to avoid disappointment.

Arriving by Float Plane

Our float plane dock is located at the ?? end of our 425-foot-long dock. The space specifically reserved for float planes is designated by red & white stripes. Landings are not permitted at our fuel dock.

All float plane services, with the exception of Kenmore Air (from Seattle), is by charter. When arranging for your charter, tell them you want to go to or be picked up from the John Henry’s (or formerly Fisherman’s) float plane dock.

The most frequently used charter providers include: Sunshine Coast Air and Harbour Air. If you need additional details to coordinate your arrival or departure, please call 604-883-2336, Ext 2 and ask for Allyson or Alan.
